About

The Abergavenny Baker is an award winning Cookery School located in Abergavenny town centre, the foodie capital of South Wales.

Established in 2015 by Dr Rachael Watson, a self taught baker, the classes are suitable for all abilities; for those who want to learn specific techniques and understand the science of yeasted breads or for friends, couples or family who just want a lovely day out doing something fun and creative.

We offer one day classes with a maximum of 6 to 8 bakers so there's plenty of opportunity for discussion, questions, and individual attention. We mix two or three doughs by hand and bake 4 or 5 different breads. Choose from Italian, French, Nordic, Middle Eastern, Great British, Welsh, Easter, Christmas, Sourdough or Coeliac classes.

Every class includes Second Breakfast to keep you going until lunch (with wine) and afternoon tea just before you leave at 4.30pm.
