The Chepstow Society is a local volunteer-run charity, formed in 1948 to explore and promote the remarkable history of the town and to keep an eye on changes affecting it.
We are a friendly and socially active group, and welcome new members.
We meet each month (except August and December) in the Drill Hall, to hear a talk of local and/or historical interest, and to discuss changes in the town and surrounding area.
We have been active in placing pavement and wall plaques around the town, and have published many books and pamphlets on its history.
We also run tours, walks and excursions, and organise other initiatives to raise awareness of the history and character of our area.
